Kaminerna har besegrat kylan

När vintern slog till och ryska attacker slog mot Ukrainas energisystem, stod vi starka tillsammans. Kylan trängde in i hem och skyddsrum, kröp ner i skyttegravarna och möjligheten att laga mat eller ens få en gnutta värme blev en kamp. Tack vare våra givare och partners har vi kunnat förse Ukraina med livsviktiga kaminer. De har inte bara gett värme och möjliggjort matlagning, utan också gjort det möjligt att smälta snö och koka vatten – en livsviktig resurs för hygien och desinfektion när tillgången till rent vatten är knapp. Som en av mottagarna uttrycker det; “The stoves from Sweden are convenient. The clever design and quality material enables movability. From cooking outside to bring it down to the bomb shelter for heat during air alarm.”

Hope and home: Boarding school for displaced children

Photographs of former students turned soldiers hang on the entrence wall of the Dzhulynka boarding school. These are the faces of young men who likely dreamed of building their lives and achieving their goals. Now, they find themselves on the battlefield.

Women supporting women: Shelter a beacon of hope amidst war

Southern Ukraine – During the communist era, the building served as a bakery. Five years ago, sisters Inna and Olga bought the house intending to revive the business, but when they were approached by a woman seeking shelter from her violent husband, their mission shifted. Gradually, they transformed the building into a sanctuary for women and children in need.

A shelter born from war: One woman’s mission to save Ukraine’s forgotten dogs

In war-torn Ukraine, a tiny black-and-white Chihuahua is found in a garbage bin, weak and clinging to life. Rescued by a garbage collector, it survives and is adopted by a caring Swedish owner. While this dog is lucky, thousands of abandoned dogs are not. Ira Yavoriv, founder of the Green house dogs shelter is on a mission to rescue and rehome as many as she can.
